Isn't this city better known as Alba Longa? john k 04:45, 13 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Absolutely. I can cite the following references for Alba Longa (two words):
- "Alba Longa" - Encyclopædia Britannica 2004, http://www.britannica.com/eb/article?tocId=9005385
- my copy of The Aeneid, Penguin Classics 1956. As well as multiple references in the text, the Glossary on p344 reads: ALBA LONGA, the Latin City founded by Ascanius on the Alban hills.

Note: none of these sources even mention Albalonga (one word) as an alternative. Hence given the above evidence I'm reverting the change.
Perhaps Gianfranco could offer some insight into the change he made in 2002?
