The term true histamine isn't correct. But I can't think of a better way to delineate this class of drugs, which ought to be categorized separately from the drugs more commonly known as antihistamines. Eric22 07:03, 2004 Apr 7 (UTC)
- I would advocate the use of primary antihistamine to refer to drugs that block the release of histamine from mast cells, basophils, etc., and secondary antihistamine in reference to drugs that block histamine receptors (H1-3). However, I haven't found these terms in the literature, so I hesitate to proceed... --Diberri 20:03, Apr 7, 2004 (UTC)
