My name is Henning Weede. I was born in Germany, grew up in Spain and am presently living in Hamburg, Germany. I studied naval achitecture at Berlin University of Technology and wrote a doctoral thesis on laying offshore pipelines in waves. Since then, I prefer professional fieds related to research and the development of numerical methods of naval engineering. One of my fields is the analysis and prediction of manoeuvring behaviour of ships.

Wikipedia fascinates me because so many people contribute to an amazing result, not for money but just for enthusiasm. My first contribution to the English Wikipedia was ship model basin.
