[edit]Ummm...does anyone know if this is a musical play or a straight play ? Thanks. (in advance)
- Straight play (no pun intended). Mike H 23:05, Nov 5, 2004 (UTC)
- Oh, my god, what a great idea. If there can be Silence! (Silence of the Lambs - the Musical), why not Sodomy, Last Summer?... - Nunh-huh 23:10, 5 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Film
[edit]I have created a separate article on the film at Suddenly, Last Summer (film). Apart from removing the film-related categories, I have left the film description in this article. If anyone feels they are now a little too specific here, please discuss. Orbicle 13:56, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

Seriously, people!
[edit]Why is it that people refuse to add sources for this article and for the film? Do they have something against this particular story? --Crackthewhip775 (talk) 02:53, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
comments, questions, suggestions
[edit]- references are not really formatted correctly (with reference section at the bottom) and external links to references are in the text, not the footnotes. Also could have more references.--Mdukas (talk) 22:10, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Pedophilia or just homosexuality?
[edit]The plot summary claims Violet Venable wants to lobotomize Catharine to "cloud the truth about her son's pedophilia and death," but isn't she just trying to keep people from knowing that he's homosexual? The ages of the "boys" Sebastian wants to attract are never mentioned specifically, I believe. If I remember the play correctly, Sebastian wanted to bring Catharine because he thought the "boys" would be attracted to her; this implies that they're at least capable of sexual feelings and therefore not prepubescent children. I think a lot of the themes of this play center on the societal shame and prejudice connected to homosexuality, and it seems that other people think this because this article is labeled as part of Wikipedia's LGBT Project. If this is the case, the word "pedophilia" should be changed to "homosexuality," as they are completely separate concepts. --Frankgorshin (talk) 22:35, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
- Actually the youths that Catharine describes Sebastian as getting involved with in Cabeza de Lobo are "between childhood and adulthood". Jasonedwardclapham (talk) 16:44, 9 March 2023 (UTC)

Suddenly, Last Summer → Suddenly Last Summer – The name of the Tennessee Williams play (unlike the film versions) does not contain a comma in the title. Jasonedwardclapham (talk) 15:04, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
