Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. You might like to start by reading the tutorial and introducing yourself at the new users page. If you have any questions, you can ask at the help desk or on my talk page. Two useful tips are that you can sign your name using four tildes (~~~~) and you can preview your changes before you save using the show preview button. You can regularly find new tips on the Community Portal. I look forward to reading your great articles and I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. :)

P.S. Are you by any chance an Early Edition fan? Ambi 00:00, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Thank you for the welcome message. And yes, I am an Early Edition fan.

It'd be nice to see that article expanded a bit if you get a chance - I've been meaning to do it for a while. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to see Early Edition for years - it got canned after a couple of years here, well before it was axed in the US. Ambi 08:22, 4 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Survey Invitation

[edit]

Hi there, I am a research student from the National University of Singapore and I wish to invite you to do an online survey about Wikipedia. To compensate you for your time, I am offering a reward of USD$10, either to you or as a donation to the Wikimedia Foundation. For more information, please go to the research home page. Thank you. --WikiInquirer 09:32, 16 March 2007 (UTC)talk to me[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Titlow Beach, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page WPA. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:03, 7 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free images in your user sandbox

[edit]

Hi Puget Sound. Please check the copyright tag of image files before adding them to your usersandbox to make sure the file is not non-free content. Each use of non-free content is required to comply with Wikiepdia's non-free content use policy and one of these requirements in WP:NFCC#9, which says that non-free content may only be used in the article namespace. Please also refer to WP:UP#Non-free files for more details. Non-free files have been previously removed from your sandbox before by other editors as well, but perhaps you did not notice the edit sums or did not understand why. Anyway, it's OK to make a mistake once or twice, but now you know so please don't add any more of such images again. If you have questions about this, feel free to ask them at WP:MCQ. Thanks in advance. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:42, 1 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know! I'm only using the images for fake wikiboxes for an alternate history (how history could have gone differently, like what if Gore had won in 2000) website, and will be sure to not use them in the future!  :)

Orphaned non-free image File:Tacoma Public Schools logo.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Tacoma Public Schools logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 23:33, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
