• The meaning of the word stengah would be good to know. Whisky and soda? It seems a little out of character for meshuggah. Se tengah is one half, which is a little better.

I saw it mentioned in a review somewhere, and I checked here after looking thoroughly through both versions of the album that I have, and checked the band's website. I checked here, and attempted to find a source to prove it. I couldn't find the two resources I checked first and a great deal of searching the band's forums. This can cause a lot of problems with pretty much any listener dealing with the album. I can't think of any other sources anywhere near as viable as those three, but maybe I missed something, and maybe there's something I didn't think of. But given the issues the article has already caused, that one claim really needs to be proved or refuted. Factual inaccuracy spreads to some degree or another.

What I did find on the forums however was an interview with Tomas Haake in which he said "...we did a few mistakes in the past, as most bands have, like with the 'Chaosphere' album, we accepted the SLAYER tour so we had to rush the recording and the production suffered from it, I think. And the same thing for the 'Nothing' album. We would have needed at least another three months for that album and when we had already gone into the studio for the recording, we got the offer to play Ozzfest and we accepted. But the album suffered from it, I think, especially production-wise. We had to rush it real bad. We just didn't have any time for anything, not to even reflect on what we were doing. Well, according to these guys at Meshuggah's forum, Nothing showcased the 8 strings:

This article states that "due to their custom Nevborn [8-string] guitars not yet being ready", so they used detuned 7-string guitars. However, later in the article, in the re-master section, it states the 7-string guitars were used because the 8-string guitars "suffered from bad intonation and became detuned between each recording." Fact check? Theres two different reasons stated in the article for the reason they used 7-string guitars, and its inconsistent and needs to be fixed. Track errors?

My version of the original Nothing has some overlay errors, such as the first second or two of Straws Pulled At Random on Organic Shadows, the previous track. My version displays the correct times and correlates with the tracklisting for the original on here. Should this be noted, and has anyone else experienced this?
