[edit]Are quite so many external links neccessary? If so, could there be some justification, please? -Erolos 19:34, 5 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- I would say, "no," and offer "rabid fandom," but that's an explanation, not a justification. I'm not sure fan sites should be linked here; they're not authorities, often repeat information found elsewhere (sometimes inaccurately), and can be easily found through a standard web search. If we're voting, I move that all but the IMDB and the Glasgow Citizens' Theater links be removed. Canonblack 03:42, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
Birthdate Issue
[edit]The first line in parentheses reads, "born February 14, 1969". Yet, on the last paragraph, it is stated that, "She was NOT born on February the 14th as some sources claim", without providing an alternate birthdate or at least reason for dispute. --61.6.203.213 10:52, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- From the history, it looks like the last line predates the date in parenthesis at the top, and that the word "not" was capitalized AND boldened as a warning to users who would add the date in at the top (by my accounting, it's been removed and reverted three times, but I might have miscounted). Unfortunately, whoever it was who was so adamant that the 14 Feb date not be included didn't give a citation (either proof that that's not the correct date, or the actual correct date), and IMDB, which might be regarded as some kind of quotable authority, shows her birthdate as February 14 and makes no mention of a controversy. I've also checked four of the external links and only one mentions her birthdate (it says February 14, 1970!), and none mention any controversy surrounding it. So do we place a template indicating the contradiction, or go with the body of evidence which seems to indicate that her birthday is indeed February 14? I think I'll place the template, and we can discuss here. Canonblack 03:32, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
- [EDIT] I've found six other sites not linked here which give her birthdate as 14 Feb, including MSN Movies and Hello Magazine, plus one other site giving no date but claiming the year as 1970. None mention any controversy about the date. If the person who claims 14 Feb is not correct is reading this, please explain and provide a source for your claim. Otherwise, we're going with 14 Feb 1969. I don't agree with "voting on the facts," but it seems the evidence is more in support of 14 Feb and 1969 than in any other date or year. - An anon user saw fit to remove the {{contradict}} banner, but the contradiction persists. I've replaced the banner, but as I write this I'm thinking of removing it AND the final sentence protesting the 14 Feb. date. Canonblack 23:17, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
