The results are wrong - the number of MPs appears to be that for the 1951 General election. And until 1974 the Ulster Unionist MPs were part of the Conservatives and should be listed with them.

Labour 364 seats, Conservatives 253 seats, Liberals 12 seats, Republican Labour 1. Labour majority of 98. Harry Hayfield 21:46, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Can someone add the actual date in 1966 that this election occurred? I think that would be useful information, and it's not here. Moncrief 08:58, Mar 24, 2004 (UTC)

Party colours

[edit]

I would like to know if there is some means of party colours in text. For instance Labour comes up red, Conservatives come up blue and Liberals come up orange. Harry Hayfield 21:47, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It could be done, but I don't think it would be a good idea - it would be likely to make it difficult to read. That's why we've chosen a system for the tables where a small box to the left of the party name indicates their colour. Warofdreams talk 02:05, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, thanks for that. In that case, might the following be an idea? (taking the example of Wolverhampton North East). What I am trying for is box party colour box, name of constituency, Result with percentage and change, Winning Party and Status, Swing Harry Hayfield 09:44, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Something like this? Warofdreams talk 14:09, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Constituency Winning party Result Swing
Votes % Change
Anytown Monster Raving Loony gain 15,000 33.3 +13.3 +26.7

That is precisely what I meant! Thanks Harry Hayfield 09:09, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

363 or 364?

[edit]

The BBC lists the number of seats won in 1966 by Labour as 363 (full total including speaker etc.), I was wondering then why it is listed on here as 364. Of course, the BBC isn't perfect, but they normally get this sort of thing right, not to talk down the marvellous work done by fellow election fans on here —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.11.158.29 (talk) 12:56, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Great, now there's no sodding map for this election... what a cockup. Sophie means wisdom (talk) 20:55, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Deleting something which turned out to be a major copyright violation is hardly a "cockup". Warofdreams talk 11:10, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The map is incorrect - it shows Aberdeen South as Tory, and East Aberdeenshire as Labour. 34033 —Preceding undated comment added 12:55, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Picture of Heath

[edit]

This is an absurdly young looking picture of Heath that's being used in the infobox. It's claimed it's a picture from 1960; it may well be one from before 1960. The previous picture which was used actually is dated to 1 May 1966. Given the date of this election, wouldn't that be a better one to use? FieldOfWheat (talk) 07:16, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
