Best-and-fairest is a term applied to an award won by Australian rules footballers. Players who win an Australian rules football competition or club's best-and-fairest award are judged to be that player's best player during a season. However the only true best-and-fairest award is the Brownlow Medal, which disqualifies players who are suspended during a season.
