Here are some useful tips to ease you into the Wikipedia experience:
- First, take a look at the Wikipedia Tutorial, and perhaps dabble a bit in the test area.
- When you have some free time, take a look at the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines. They can come in very handy!
- Remember to use a neutral point of view!
- If you need any help, feel free to post a question at the Help Desk
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Also, here are some odds and ends that I find useful from time to time:
- Wikipedia:Policy Library
- Wikipedia:Utilities
- Wikipedia:Cite your sources
- Wikipedia:Verifiability
- Wikipedia:Wikiquette
- Wikipedia:Civility
- Wikipedia:Conflict resolution
- Wikipedia:Brilliant prose
- Wikipedia:Pages needing attention

...for the welcome. BTW, what is up with the mouldy sandwich award? :-)
- My pleasure! As for the mouldy sandwich... I honestly have no idea what that's for or about. I like to think that it's a compliment... ClockworkTroll 15:40, 7 Nov 2004 (UTC)
I have a question
[edit]Posted on User:ClockworkTroll
I've been working on the Pet Sematary page, and I'm thinking of putting up a picture of the book's cover. My question is, would posting such a picture count as copyright infringment? Leroi henri christophe 01:23, 11 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Hi, Leroi. Fortunately for die-hard fans like you, book and CD album covers are covered by the fair use doctrine, as described on the page Wikipedia:Fair_use page. Just be sure when you upload the image to include the {{fairuse}} in the image description! ClockworkTroll 02:26, 11 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Front cover of 'Pet Sematary'.PNG)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Front cover of 'Pet Sematary'.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:43, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
