microtrauma are actually required in the building of stronger muscle, ligaments and tendons. for instance bodybuilders routinely expose themselves to microtrauma by regular intense anaerobic exercise. it is in the recouperation phase that the body repairs the trauma to an improved state - thus tendons are microscopically thicker and there are slightly more muscle fibres. - That's a very interesting claim; can anyone supply a medical reference to back that up? -- Beland 16:15, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
