Things to note:

Usually the taxobox heading is the common name of the family—in this case, "Cormorants"— in bold type. Note the plural. The article title, however, should always be in the singular.
If there is no suitable common name, use the scientific name instead.
Genera can be listed by name; if more than 5-10 genera exist, use subfamilies if these have articles already. Otherwise give the approximate number of genera ("About one dozen" for example). If a systematics section exists in the article, you can list the genera or subfamilies alphabetically. Otherwise, use a taxonomic list.
Watch out for taxonomic issues. It's a minefield out there!
