Vampire Chronicles

[edit]

Er... The Vampire chronicles are good to read, but I'd say they were influenced by Gothic stuff rather than Psychedelia? I really dont think they should be here so I've removed them, but if you can give a good reason why then please add them again. I've added books by Aldous Huxley, Island and Brave New World amongst others. Mostly Zen 17:02, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I added it in reference to an Anne Rice interview in which she stated that the enhanced senses of the vampire, particularly the scene where he first becomes a vampire, and everything seems to be moving and alive (as also in the movie) were inspired by her (and/or her husband's) experiences with LSD and cannabis. --Thoric 18:16, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting. I read those books when I was 16, way before I ever took any psychedelics. I'll give it another read. Mostly Zen 16:22, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What is this, a wikitionary article that tries to define a term using literature? Not even like a wikitionary article because it doesn't define the term or even suggest a definition. I fail to see how this could really be a viable article. Enlighten me. 66.41.66.213 04:44, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's a stub article that failed to get a proper definition as of yet. --Thoric 15:15, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I removed Brave New World because Aldous Huxley wrote that before trying psychedelics, the drug Soma from that book is based more on opiates, so it doesn't belong on this list. 12.27.190.248 21:12, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This list needs curation

[edit]

This list appears to have accumulated over the years plenty of listings that are non-notable and/or have been added for the purposes of promotion. It really needs to be curated and trimmed to the most relevant and notable titles. -- Ed (Edgar181) 18:23, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Rename as list?

[edit]

Should this article be renamed to "list of psychedelic literature"? RJFJR (talk) 13:39, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Tables

[edit]

I should like to propose converting the tables back to a standard bibliography list. The problem is that the tables omit relevant publication details, such as the publisher and the ISBN, which make them much less useful. If no one objects, I will start this conversion soon.
