[edit]I admit my version was POV, but your version is even more POV, Cautious. Nico 09:38, 12 Mar 2004 (UTC)
Let us try NPOV in talk first. One aproved we can move it to the article. Your turn. Cautious 09:51, 12 Mar 2004 (UTC)
As the article is not dealing with Steinbach, I have removed all the duplications of text from that article. I have also removed the POVs
Gabriele Lesser (born 1962) is a German historian and journalist, who specializes in the history of World War II.
Recently she criticised a recent initiative of the Federation of Expellees. Under the leadership of Erika Steinbach, the German organisations started a campaign to force Poland and the Czech Republic to recognize the property rights of the expulsed Germans.
Recently, the Federation of Expellees sued Gabriele Lesser for defamations. The questioned article was published September 19, 2003, in the daily Kieler Nachrichten. The newspaper decided to stop attacking the Federation of Expellees and its leadership.
Your turn. -- Nico 10:00, 14 Mar 2004 (UTC)
"Heimatvertriebene sued Gabriele Lesser for publishing articles explaining the Polish point of view to the German public" is not neutral. No trial would ever deal just with "explaining something" in Germany. Be more specific, then you can remove the dispute note. Get-back-world-respect 23:11, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- Ok, I see one can be sued for "defamations". I would however like to know in what the "defamation" should consist and if any reasonable person is concerned about Steinbach's chances to win that trial, which, judged from this article, should be very close to zero. I liked the German version about Steinbach ending with the sentence "Due to comprehensive coverage of her suggestion she is better known in Poland than in Germany. - This article should be up-dated when the trial ends. I guess the "concern about threat to freedom of opinion" can be removed then. Get-back-world-respect 10:59, 22 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- IMO, its quite possile to get some court to deal with some, IMO, stupidy. Compare "chancellor's Schroders
dyedhair" cause. Wikimol 11:59, 22 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- Well he won a libel suit because they lied about him. Although I agree that Schroeder and our courts had better spend their time on important stuff I do not think that it is any threat to the freedom of the press. Get-back-world-respect 13:02, 22 Apr 2004 (UTC)
