Nominated for speedy, but probably not a CSD, so I bring it here for debate. 865 hits isn't too bad for an artist in a non-English speaking country, especially one whose "15 minutes" of fame may have largely been pre-Internet. At least one 1980 presentation of his works was apparently sponsored by the University of Iowa. Seems keepable to me, but since I found it on speedy with a {notable} tag, I thot I should post it here, just in case I'm in the minority. Niteowlneils 02:12, 21 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Forgot to include link to U of Iowa connection[1]. Niteowlneils 02:21, 21 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- I guess my nerves are still jangling over the Bandit. :^P That's a guy I'm not going to miss. The total content of the article prior its expansion into a proper substub was "Wolf Kahlen is a European artist." Nice new substub, and keep if this guy passes the notoriety litmus test. - Lucky 6.9 05:13, 21 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Keep and clean up. There is a lot of web evidence for this fellow, but this is a criminal substub. We need to be alert to the Internet bias of self-promoters and contemporary "media" artists, who can get puffed up by the web even as medieval artists of great fame and importance are on page 20 of a Google search, but he's a prof., has retrospectives, etc. Clean up will need to look carefully, and maybe be able to read German. We could delete this as a substub, but let's see what Clean Up does. Geogre 13:22, 21 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- An EBSCO search turns up several one-man shows in Germany and the US, and he was profiled in Artforum magazine in 1981- he's been around for a while, and seems to be pretty well-known in the field. I think he (just) makes the notability criterion- I'd say keep the substub, and expand.-FZ 13:54, 21 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. — Gwalla | Talk 23:03, 21 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- I vote keep if it can be expanded. ffirehorse 21:26, 26 Aug 2004 (UTC)
