European english

[edit]

European English does not always describe bands like this, does it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Clrichey (talkcontribs) 23:50, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Second most successful Swedish group after ABBA

[edit]

Could this article please point out that Roxette are the second most successful Swedish group after ABBA? The article on Ace of Base says that Ace of Base are the third most successful Swedish pop group after ABBA and Roxette - ergo, Roxette must be the second most successful Swedish pop group. The category Female-fronted musical groups is up for deletion at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2024_August_6#Category:Female-fronted_musical_groups, and this music group article has listed it as a category. If you have an opinion either way please join the discussion. Thanks. Fyunck(click) (talk) 06:54, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

GA concerns

[edit]

I am concerned that this article no longer meets the good article criteria because of the uncited information in the 2022-2023 and 2024 sections, as well as some sentences elsewhere in the article. Is anyone willing to add the necessary citations, or should this be sent to WP:GAR? Z1720 (talk) 20:26, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the talk page message @Z1720: 185.161.117.124 has added a lot of unsourced, WP:FANCRUFT content to this article over the past few months (beginning in June). I was hoping to just do a quick revert, but there were other, substantive edits in the following weeks. It will take some time to revert their edits without removing the substantive edits. That being said, I brought the articles for Roxette's last 3 albums – Charm School, Travelling and Good Karma – to GA over the last few years, as well as Marie Fredriksson. I also did some work at Bag of Trix and Pop-Up Dynamo!. The best sources on all those articles could easily be used to bring the latter sections of this article in line with current GA criteria. It may take me a while to do all this though. Will try to work as fast as I can do all this. Homeostasis07 (talk/contributions) 23:53, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Homeostasis07: If someone is willing to work on an article, I won't bring it to GAR. Let me know when its ready to be checked again. Z1720 (talk) 00:57, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Couldn't sleep due to real-world stress, so figured I'd make a start. I've undone the edits by the IP, but have hopefully kept the constructive edits by @Xblkx: @Rodw: and @HouseBlaster: Please feel free to check that I haven't screwed up along the way. I plan on spending the next week or so expanding the article, so all should hopefully be good in the end. Homeostasis07 (talk/contributions) 02:06, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about the delay @Z1720: I got distracted with some other projects. But the last four sections of History are now fully sourced, and I've improved the prose and referencing on the first. There may be a bit of prose bloat right now, but that will hopefully be rectified with my later edits. I'm aware the Awards and nomination section needs some references. I may end up creating List of awards and nominations received by Roxette, if I can find sufficient sourcing. I also made a start on a band member timeline at The Neverending World Tour#Band members. I found reliable sources for band members from 1987–1995, but need some time to source their band lineup in the late 90s activity (i.e., their US tour of 1999). Like I said, there are some other projects I'd like to get done, so it may still take me a couple of months to do all this, and rewrite/source History from 1988–2001. I'd appreciate your patience. @Homeostasis07: I am in no rush to nominate the article if someone is working on it. Z1720 (talk) 01:04, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
