Argentine Antarctica
[edit]Mike, thanks for your edit at Argentine Antarctica. I'm not sure if it has a capital city. Please see Talk:Argentine Antarctica to follow up discussion. Best, Mxcatania 16:06, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
Melekeok
[edit]Do you have a reference for the transfer of the capital of Palau not being complete until 7 October? It was supposed to happen on 1 Oct, according to [1]. I'm not doubting what you've written, but I'd like to write up a news item for Portal:Oceania and Current events in Oceania and need a ref for that.-gadfium 22:38, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
- Got your message on my Talk page regarding Palau's capital change. The flag over the capital building in Koror was lowered on 1 October to coincide with their Independence Day. But they did not authorize the move-in to the Melekeok facilities until 7 October, which coincided with a full moon. Not sure why that was important, but that's what the various news articles say, including this news blurb from Palau's VP: [2]. Here is the text:
- President’s Cabinet Travels to Melekeok
- September 22, 2006
- President Remengesau conducted his cabinet meeting last Tuesday in his new office in the new Capitol building. According to Presidential Chief of Staff Billy Kuartei, the entire cabinet traveled to Melekeok to see their new offices. Kuartei said that all the furniture is in place in each office, and after the October 1st celebrations, employees can start moving their things in. The official move-in date is October 7 (full moon), and work will begin on Monday, October 9. Kuartei added that all is set for the October 1st celebrations, which will include a 45-member Harley Davidson Club bike ride from Koror to the new Capitol.
- Hope that helps! --Mike Beidler 05:27, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Petra and backmasking
[edit]Mike, I'd like to revert your edit on the backmasking note in the Petra article. There are definitely backwards soundclips in the last half of "Witch Hunt." Play the song for yourself and you can hear it. The subject matter of the song makes it an obvious place for the band to include such backmasking. Kirkman 01:51, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
CTA Cover Art
[edit]Hi - I'm just wondering if you could tell me your reasoning for reverting my change to Chicago? The cover art I was using is the true original cover art for the image. If you go to the CTA article, both the front and back cover are shown there. If we're going to show the front cover art for the albums in the gallery on the band's article page, then let's show the front cover art for everything. Care to discuss? Thanks! --Analogdemon (talk) 12:17, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- My bad. I figured you had accidentally uploaded a super small picture of the album cover rather than a better picture of what already existed. Had no idea that what is being used currently is actually the back of the album! --Mike Beidler 17:15, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- No problem. Ever since CTA's first release on CD back in the mid 80s, they've used the back cover. As you can see, the front and back covers were nearly identical, except the front cover's CTA logo was way smaller. That wasn't a problem in the days of LPs when you had a 12" x 12" cardboard sleeve. Since artwork for CDs is far smaller, it made more sense to use the back cover since the logo was far larger. Cheers! --Analogdemon (talk) 18:14, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
CoD
[edit]There's no indication that Circle of Dust have reformed. Please provide that information before updating the infobox. Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:20, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
- There is every indication. In addition to remixing Celldweller music and re-releasing the entire Circle of Dust catalog, Klayton *is* recording new Circle of Dust music (I've heard it with my own ears) for release in 2016. Mike Beidler (talk) 11:52, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for adding the content, but I don't see it. I won't edit war, but it would be best to provide some prose from a secondary source, not links to the band's Facebook page that shows an image or a brief announcement, to support the statement that they have reformed rather than simply re-issuing some old material.
